Food as an afterthought is just fuel.
Considerate catering on the other hand, can be the main event.
Perhaps this is what Digby and Hugo had in mind when they dreamed up Feast-it — the platform being hailed as Airbnb for food trucks. Bored of hunting down and comparing individual food trucks online, they pictured a sexy, intuitive e-commerce platform that would connect food truck suppliers directly to clients – B2B and B2C.
We convinced them we were the right studio to help them create it.
Feast-it weren’t the first provider in the market place so we had to ensure our experience was superior in terms of UX, visual design, back-end vendor onboarding and in-app messaging.
Search, SEO, custom landing pages, fast, easy booking, inspiration, and great photography all seared and blended together perfectly.
Branding, typography, art direction, and illustrations.
A CMS driven web app with simple, intuitive filtering and search functions, details on all the vendors, and the ability to register, book, and complete payment.
We built a Single Page Application utilising the React framework combined with Redux for state management, along with a BEM flavoured SASS approach for our styles.
The back-end is powered by NodeJS running Express, using Stripe integration for payment and subscriptions, and the Contentful API for the blog. Faster than Bolt off the blocks and fully scalable as the business goes from strength to strength.
Post launch we helped prioritise their roadmap, iteratively enhanced the feature set with favourites, and recurring payments which allowed customers to pay in instalments prior to their event. We even helped them recruit an internal team. We’re nice like that!
Feast-it grew by more than 1000% in 2018, reaching over £2.5m worth of enquiries per month last year, and is currently targeting a 360% growth in 2019.
