B2BC: Base Camp bound

Two of our team are embarking on a very special adventure this week. Ryan Gledhill and Alex Chiu have been raising money to fund their expedition the Everest as part of PHASE Worldwide’s Bristol to Base Camp expedition.
This trip is more than a life-changing hike as the money raised by the B2BC crew will be donated to women and children living in remote regions of Nepal as well as funding their trip up Everest. PHASE empowers women in Nepal with the tools to provide for their families in challenging weather conditions, installing healthcare systems in isolated rural areas and teaching families the importance of nutrition and health. Their work changes the lives of so many people that would otherwise be living in extremely challenging circumstances.
But this trip is more than just a financial benefit for PHASE. This annual campaign is crucial to raise awareness of their charity and its important mission. The team at Neverbland were first offered the chance to join the expedition back in September 2022, when Alex and Ryan first jumped at the opportunity. Fast forward six months and the boys are on their way to Nepal as we speak. Here are their final thoughts before traversing Everest:
It’s just a couple more hours until we set off and I’m feeling incredibly excited now. It feels like it was only yesterday that I signed up for this. I can’t express enough gratitude to NEVERBLAND for giving me the time and support to go on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Also need to shout out to all my family, friends and colleagues who have generously supported me in my fundraising efforts in the last couple of months. You guys are my real base camp!

It’s hard to believe that the first conversations we had about this challenge were over 6 months ago, and now we’re here - ready to go. So much thought, planning and training has gone into getting ready for this trek and raising as much money as possible for PHASE Worldwide. As a team, we’ve managed to collectively surpass £20,000 which is huge! We are packed, excited and ready! See you on the mountain!
