Pitch@Palace brings Entrepreneurs together with potential business supporters, influencers, investors, and partners. Their app was first built to help them manage their event programme, and facilitate in-event voting, but as they grew, they quickly realised they needed the app to do much more.
NEVERBLAND were challenged with reimagining the app from the ground up to create something that could drive the growth of their global network, and help them achieve their aim of amplifying and accelerating the work of their cohort of Entrepreneurs – worldwide.
We facilitated a process of feature prioritisation to define what we would launch with that fit with the event schedule, and provided a step up in functionality for users. We identified key features we would retain, as well as important new features including Search, Onboarding, Member and company Profiles and Event Schedules.
We knew we would need a new technology stack and enable us to grow incrementally for the next few years and opted for React Native through Expo, Prisma, Apollo, and GraphQL.
We started wire-framing in April 2018, and quickly worked through stages of prototyping, UI design, development, and testing up until the day it was published in the App Store and Play Store on launch in June 2018.
The Duke of York launched the new app officially at Pitch@Palace On Tour Edinburgh on 1 July 2018, and it has since been used to facilitate network events across the UK, Canada, Australia, Vietnam, UAE, Hungary, and Bahrain.
We’ve continued to add features to allow users to make secure Connections within the Pitch@Palace network, get access to events using unique e-tickets and also use the app offline. We’ve also developed new features such as in app messaging that help to create meaningful connections between Entrepreneurs and the people who can help make their business dreams become a reality.
